No-Limit Holdem Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?
Phil Ivey has been referred to as the number one poker competitor on the globe by many of the top professionals. Phil was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to Jersey before reaching the age of 1. His grandpa taught Phil penny-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From that point on, he was hooked on poker and wished to discover every little thing he could about poker. He routinely told his parents that he was going to be a professional poker player. He did not let the adverse feedback from others kill his ambition of becoming one of the best poker players on the planet.
He began competing intently after acquiring a fake ID with the name of Jerome. He sharpened his abilities at the poker rooms in Atlantic City. The beginning number of years for him were a teaching opportunity and coming away with a win was not a common outcome at the time. Phil became known at the 2000 World Series of Poker where he made two final tables and came away with his 1st World Series of Poker bracelet, in a $2, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha game. At the final table he defeated quite a few of the well known professionals including but not limited to "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
He made a decision to take his game to the successive level and headed out west to Vegas. Phil continues to play in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players on the planet. Ivey credits his achievements to discipline and an immeasurable passion for poker. He states that he is picking up skills every day and is quite abashed about his achievements. Phil admits to making blunders every single game of poker and constantly aspires to improve.
Although Ivey has won some big-time tournaments, he likes destroying cash games on a regular basis.
