NL Holdem Poker- Howard Lederer?

Howard Lederer was born into in a family of five where he loved playing numerous card games at a young age. He found himself becoming really competitive in these card games while playing his father. After finishing secondary school, Howard decided to place college on hold for a bit and moved away to New York to compete in some formidable chess. While playing chess, he was introduced to a poker game taking place in the back of the room. Howard’s first 2 years were rough as he would play countless hours and do not win a majority of the time. He earned some extra money by becoming an runner for the poker enthusiasts. He judged he possibly could better his game by balancing his life outside of poker. He made an effort to get more rest and focus more on the game.

The definite improvement in his skills began when he began gambling at the Mayfair Club in New York. The Mayfair was a bridge and backgammon club where the the most favorable players would frequently challenge each other. He was able to access some of the best players in chess. With their help, Howard Lederer would hone his cunning thinking skills. He applied these strategic ideas to the game of NL holdem.

Howard also helped his sibling Annie Duke master the game of poker. Annie was a superb student of poker as she constantly asked questions about how to make the correct decision. He told Annie Duke to move out to Las Vegas and play in the World Series of Poker tournaments. She is one of the best women players the poker world has ever seen. Howard Lederer relocated to Las Vegas in 1993 and played money games for the following decade. When the WPT grew in popularity, Howard decided to compete in more tournaments.
