No-Limit Texas Holdem Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?
Phil Ivey has been labeled as the greatest poker player in the world by quite a few of the top-ranked professionals. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to NJ before reaching the age of 1. His papa taught Phil penny-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From that point on, he was addicted to poker and wanted to learn everything he possibly could about poker. Phil would tell his elders that he wanted to be a professional poker player. He did not permit the detrimental feedback from other people annihilate his goal of being one of the best poker competitors in the world.
Phil started competing intently after acquiring a false ID with the name of Jerome. He practiced his techniques at the poker rooms of Atlantic City. The first few years for Phil were a learning period and winning was not a regular thing at the time. He made his mark at the 2000 World Series of Poker where he made two final tables and won his 1st WSOP bracelet, in a two dollar, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha game. At the final table he destroyed many of the better known professionals which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
He made a decision to take his game to the successive level and headed out west to Las Vegas. Phil continues to play in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players in the world. Ivey credits his achievements to hard work and an undying love for the game of poker. Phil says that he is picking up skills every single day and is quite humble about his accomplishments. Phil knows he makes blunders in each session of poker and constantly aspires to get better.
Even though Phil has won some big-time tournaments, he likes winning cash games on a regular basis.
