Caribbean Poker Codes and Tricks

Poker has become world celebrated lately, with televised championships and celebrity poker game events. The games popularity, though, stretches back quite a bit farther than its TV ratings. Over the years numerous variants on the first poker game have been developed, including some games that are not in fact poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is one of these games. Despite the name, Caribbean stud poker is most closely resembling blackjack than old guard poker, in that the players wager against the house instead of each other. The winning hands, are the long-standing poker hands. There is no conniving or different kinds of bamboozlement. In Caribbean stud poker, you are expected to pay up just before the croupier saying "No further wagers." At that moment, both you and the dealer and of course all of the different players receive 5 cards. Once you have seen your hand and the dealer’s 1st card, you need to in turn make a call wager or bow out. The call bet’s value is equal to your beginning ante, which means that the stakes will have increased two fold. Bowing out means that your bet goes instantly to the bank. After the wager comes the face off. If the dealer doesn’t have ace/king or better, your wager is returned, with a figure in accordance with the ante. If the casino has a hand with ace/king or better, you succeed if your hand defeats the dealer’s hand. The house pays cash even with your ante and fixed odds on your call bet. These odds are:

  • Even for a pair or high card
  • 2-1 for two pairs
  • 3-1 for 3 of a kind
  • four to one for a straight
  • 5-1 for a flush
  • seven to one for a full house
  • 20-1 for a four of a kind
  • 50-1 for a straight flush
  • one hundred to one for a royal flush
