Pai Gow Poker is a modern game with old origins. Based on the old Chinese domino game and the modern American variation of poker, Pai Gow poker marries the eastern with the wild west in an excellent game for starting players.
Pai Gow is a poker game that pits the player versus the croupier, unlike nearly all other poker games that gamblers play with other gamblers. By gambling against the dealer, beginning players don’t need to be concerned about other, more experienced players winning their money.
An additional Pai Gow benefit is the fairly leisurely game pace, novices will be able to take their time and strategize without needing to make quick decisions.
It is also simpler to wager on for a long time with just a small amount of money since, to lose, each of your hands has to be lower than each of the casino’s hands.
Pai Gow uses 53 cards; the customary 52-card standard deck and one joker. The player is assigned 7 cards face up and the croupier is dealt seven cards faces hidden.
A 5 card hand and one two card hand have to be made from the seven cards dealt, the 5 card hand must be higher than the 2 card hand. To win, a player is required to have both of his hand totals to be larger than the dealer’s.
