Focus on Annie Duke
Annie Duke might not have earned her first WSOP Bracelet until two thousand and four but she is still one of the most powerful poker competitors at the live action games at The Bellagio in sin city. Annie’s long-overdue WSOP bracelet came with a win at the "forgotten game" of Omaha hi/lo.
While players from the "younger generation" of poker go crazy following a big win at the tournament, Annie goes home to be "mom" to her 4 children. She was born in New Hampshire and raised into a family of poker players. If you don’t accept that, check out her brother, Howard Lederer, in action who educated her how to participate in the game.
However, Mrs. Duke is no small change girl and has succeeded at her cut of demanding tables, including knocking out Howard a few times along the way. They’re both players that have the skill to capture the big bucks and do it with a smile.
Annie Duke is a tough player at any poker table because she is a natural poker player, but it is a bit more than simply being skilled at the game. Annie is extremely intelligent and graduated from Columbia U where she majored in Psychology and English.
When you are seated across from her at the poker table you will see she is there to play the game and she begins "sizing" you up from the time you join the poker table. If you cannot gamble like a camp, then don’t waste your time.
Acquiring over 3 million dollars in tournament play, Annie became a consultant to both the UltimateBet website and actor Ben Affleck, who wished to enhance his talents and become a power at the tables.
You will likely glimpse her at the Bellagio, you will observe her on the tv and you might even play against her in an internet poker game, but don’t count on an easy win. Except of course you are a champion-in-the-making, you will not defeat her. However, it would be exciting to mention you played at the same table as "The Duke".
