NL Texas Hold’em Poker- Howard Lederer?
Howard Lederer lived in a family of five in which he loved gambling on different card games when he was young. He found himself becoming very aggressive in these card games as he was competing against his dad. After finishing Sr. High school, Howard decided to put college on hold for a little bit and moved away to New York to participate in some serious chess. While participating in chess, he was introduced to a poker game taking place in the rear of the room. Howard’s first two years were difficult as he played countless hours and lose most times. He earned some additional money by being an assistant for the poker enthusiasts. He theorized he could better his game by balancing his life away from poker. He brought about an effort to get more sleep and focus even more on poker.
The real advancement in his skills happened when he began betting at the Mayfair Club in New York City. The Mayfair was a bridge and backgammon club where the greatest players would regularly play against each other. He had access into some of the greatest players in chess. With their assistance, he would hone his cunning thinking abilities. Howard used these strategy ideas in the game of No-Limit Texas Holdem.
Howard Lederer also assisted his sibling Annie Duke learn poker. Annie Duke was a great student of the game as she would always be asking questions about the right way to make the proper choice. Howard told Annie Duke to move out to Sin City and compete in the World Series of Poker competition. She is one of the strongest women players the poker arena ever. He relocated to Vegas in 1993 and participated in money games for the successive 10 years. When the WPT grew in popularity, Howard decided to play more tournaments.
